We use Navionics Webapp for trip planning- and so can you. Go here https://webapp.navionics.com/#boating, select Route on the bottom of the page, select Automatic, in boat settings (left side of the page) set depth as 6 feet, and speed as 7 knots. Type in ‘Venice Marina’ in the ‘From’ field (or some place in Lower Manhattan, for example), and explore away. Be patient, it may take a minute for the trip to be plotted.
This will also give you private boat charter time. From there, you can estimate the cost as follows:
Total cost = $200 x (Charter Hours*) + $75 x (Transit Hours**) + $200 x (Marina Fee***)
*Charter Hours is the number of hours during which you are aboard. Most common trips we sell are 2, 3, and 4 hours long, with some professional and commute trips being longer.
**Transit Hours is the number of hours needed for us to get the boat to and from pick up-drop off site. If you are taking the trip from our home base in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, Transit Hours = 0.
*** Marina Fee is the passenger pick up and drop off fee charged by NYC Marinas. If you are taking the trip from our home base in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, Marina Fee = 0.
Example 1. 4 hour private charter, pick up and drop off in South Brooklyn.
Total cost = $200 x 4 + $75 x 0 + $200 x 0 = $800
Example 2. 4 hour private charter, pick up and drop off in Lower Manhattan.
Total cost = $200 x 4 + $75 x 3 + $200 x 1 = $1225
